Beginner Series Part 3
Project 1 & 2 - Headpin Earrings, Basic Ear Wires
“I not only love making earrings, but particularly ‘headpin charm’ earrings! Earrings are not only an ‘impulse’ purchase for most women, but they also sell well as ‘the prefect gift’. The only issue I have with some handcrafted earrings I have seen is that the loops are not wrapped in, (which to me is a substandard product). My desire is to have the earrings made by both my students and me to last a long, long time, (which means not having weak spots that can be easily pulled apart). After learning how to wrap a loop in, you will discover how many places this simple technique can take you, such as making bracelets and necklaces, adding chain and making multiple drop combinations. Yes, I know that actual headpins can be expensive, (especially if you use a lot of them), so why not learn to make your own version and not have to worry about the gauge or length, besides saving money. Of course, learning to make your own ear wires not only add uniqueness to your designs but will also save you cash you need for other supplies.” Dale "Cougar" Armstrong
Project 3 - "Anything" Pendant Harness
“This design is actually my version of one I learned a long time ago. By modifying the length of wires you use, this harness really can be used to form a variety of odd shaped stones, shells, etc, into pendants! My students love this design too, because it is a lower priced item to sell at shows that doesn’t take too long to make.” Dale "Cougar" Armstrong
