With an open small ring, add 2 closed small rings and 2 closed big rings and close the ring. Arrange the rings so the 2 small ones are on one side and the 2 big rings on the other side. The rings don't sit flat, one side is higher than the other. Check that your rings have the high side at the top (red dots). If not just turn the piece over and check that it now looks the same as the picture.

With an open small ring go down into the bottom small ring and up through the bottom big ring add a closed big ring and a closed small ring and close the ring. Arrange the rings so the small ring sits below the other small rings and the big ring is below the other big rings.

To connect the two ends together take an open small ring and go down into the small ring on the right hand side edge and up through the big ring. With this open ring now go through the small ring and the large ring from the edge on the left hand side and close the ring. Chain nose pliers make it easier to close the ring. I have shown this ring in copper. If you are having trouble with this ring check that the tops of your rings as mentioned in step 1 are the same as in the photo, if not just turn the piece over. Make 2.

Cut a 3" (7.5cm) piece of 28g wire and place a glass spike in the center of the wire. Bend both ends up the sides of the spike and along the top so they meet in the center of the top of the spike. Make a small wrapped loop by winding both ends around the round nose pliers and then wrapping the ends around the wire under the loop. The spike needs to be held firmly by the wire, if it is loose it won't hang down straight. If it needs to be tightened hold the loop and twist it the same way as the wrapping until it is tight. Do this slowly as the wire is fine and can break.

To make the ear wires cut 2 pieces of 20g wire 2" (5cm) long, flush cut both ends. Wrap the wire around a ½" (12.5mm) mandrel to form a near circle. Make a small loop on one end. With your pliers place them near the middle of the wire, making the end with the loop slightly longer, and push the 2 sides slightly together till they have the shape you want. Work harden the ear wires in a tumbler or using a mallet on the steel block. Make 2 and attach them to the loop holding the glass spike.
