Skill Level: Beginner/All
Technique: Earrings
These earrings are as quick to sell, as they are to make, and great low priced items for craft shows!
Do not straighten first, just cut two pieces of 18g round soft wire, each 4-inches long. Use round-nose pliers to make a loop at one end of each wire, working against the curve.
On the opposite end of each wire, measure and mark at ½- inch.
Thread a chosen selection of beads onto each wire and use a round forming item to shape each into a hoop until the marked segment meets the bottom of the first loop made, (on a ring mandrel use size 7).
Use chain-nose pliers to make a 90° angle on the marked wire where it meets the first loop; continue to use this wire to wrap around the opposite, closing the hoop shape under the main loop; trim and then flatten the trimmed end.
Repeat step 4 on the other earring, wrapping in the opposite direction; add ear wires.
